Several Numis Network distributors have tried to recruit me into their business and there are others who have asked for my opinion of the company.  I have nothing against the company; however, it seems that many distributors are more interested in hyping up the business opportunity than learning everything they can about graded numismatic coins and coin collecting in general.

Numis Network does an excellent job of explaining that numismatic coins are collectable coins, not investment coins.  Several reps have tried to sell me on the fact that “the coins contain silver and gold”, which should not be the main selling point because these are collectables that do not have as much gold and silver in them as other types of coins.

I am aware that within the last two years, due to the state of the economy, financial experts have said that it’s wise to invest in precious metals instead of investing your money in banks.  Therefore, I can see why people are buying up anything that contains gold and silver these days…but, once again, numismatic coins were not meant to be investments, so why are so many distributors misinforming people?

Personally I don’t think that Numis Network distributors are trying to misinform people, I think that they jumped into the opportunity without really knowing what they’re selling.  Selling collectible coins are a great thing, but know what you are selling before you try to sell it to others.  It’s a shame when you’re prospects know more about the product that you’re selling than you do.

As for me, I personally don’t know a thing about coin collecting, nor am I interested in learning about coins.  People are caught up in joining the latest up and coming mlm company, but they need to ask themselves if they are even interested in learning about the industry the company is in.  If you are interested in numismatic coins, then this is the perfect business opportunity for you.  If you could care less about numismatic coins (or coin collecting in general), then why join a company that sells collectable coins?  Stop letting money be your only motivator.

It has been stated by several “in the know” coin collectors that the American Eagle Coin has been one of the most high demand coins containing precious metals.  Also, there has been a legitimate shortage of them, which has increased the demand.  From my understanding, Numis Network is doing an excellent job at making sure that they purchase all in demand coins at a faster rate compared to other retailers, which in turn will cause collectors to eventually have to turn to this company to get many coins that will no longer be produced.

Overall, I think that anyone interested in collectible coins should take a second look at the Numis Network business opportunity…but the fact is, you will not be successful at promoting this company or the coins online if you do not learn how to create a profitable online sales funnel.

Many people have asked me how many leads they need to make a sale online.  Everyone is so caught up in generating traffic and they want to know the ratios and averages when it comes to converting leads to sales.  I say that it doesn’t matter because statistics like that are based on traffic generation strategies (like PPC) where you haven’t developed a relationship yet; therefore, you are playing a numbers game which really isn’t necessary.

Fact is, the numbers do not matter if you take the time out to brand yourself, establish your credibility, and build a relationship with your leads.  You must write articles, create videos, give people something of value for free, and tell your story in order to attract the right type of traffic to your site.  Then, once people start to opt-in to your list, you must be able to create a relationship with them faster and stronger than your competitors and I guarantee you that your sales will go up.

So the real questions is, do you know how to build a strong relationship with your prospects so that you don’t have to play the numbers game to increase sales?

This is the very first lesson that I teach my students (along with teaching them how to do the research).

So stop worrying about generating leads right now and start doing some research on your target market. The more research you do, the easier it will be to convert your website visitors into buyers.

There has been a movement going on in the network marketing industry in the past 4 years and I can now say that I believe strongly in it.  First let’s get one thing strait – There’s more to network marketing than MLM.  MLM is network marketing, but network marketing consists of more than just MLM because not all network marketing companies have a multi –level structure.  Furthermore, not all network marketing companies focus on traditional downline building.

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about the movement – It’s called G.P.T.  Network Marketers and MLM distributors are throwing in the towel on downline building in favor of G.P.T.  and you’re about to find out why in a minute.  A few years back, a very well respected and successful home based business entrepreneur wrote a letter in a Starbucks coffee shop that introduced the network marketing industry to a concept that he called G.P.T.  Many people to this day still don’t know who wrote that letter, nor do they know what company and marketing strategy influenced this networker to write such a powerful letter.

Forget all the conspiracy theories and all of the misinformation about the letter because I have inside knowledge of the truth.  The man who wrote that letter is none other than Mike Dillard himself.  Mike doesn’t talk about the letter in his magnetic sponsoring book, nor does he talk about the network marketing company that he is associated with because that is not the purpose of magnetic sponsoring.  Mike knows that not everyone will understand nor agree with the G.P.T. concept so he doesn’t force it on you by teaching it in his magnetic sponsoring course and I think that he was very wise for leaving it out.

You see, you have to have a certain mentality to understand G.P.T. and the masses do not have that mentality.  Mike Dillard exposed what’s now known as “The Coffee House Letter” to those who were ready to learn the truth about MLM and building a downline, and decided to teach the masses the basics on how to generate leads and use funded proposals to make money.  Most network marketers and MLM distributors only care about generating more leads to build a downline, they unfortunately don’t want to hear about the facts mentioned in The Coffee House Letter, and Mike knew that.

Here in 2010 I actually joined the network marketing company that Mike Dillard is a part of and I also became a member of the internet marketing training community that he is affiliated with.  The reason is because, in my opinion, it’s easier to create wealth utilizing the G.P.T. concept mixed with the proper continuous internet marketing education and the proper financial education (which is taught by the main company) that allows you to create long term assets.

Most network marketers who are just starting to promote their business online think that all they need to do is promote the replicated website that their company gave them in all of their promotions. If you’re doing this, please don’t waste your time and money…STOP IMMEDIATELY.

You join a new network marketing opportunity, get all hyped up about your new business, and think you joined the best company out there because they give you a brand new free website and the latest state of the art back office. You learn about Pay per click advertising (PPC) and online classifieds, write a few ads, and can’t wait for the prospects and sales to start rolling in. A few months go by and you lost a couple hundred on PPC ads, didn’t make a sale, and only recruited one person into your business (if that).

You get frustrated and ask your Sponsor for help, and your sponsor gives you the website of a lead generation company where you can buy some leads, and use a phone script to get them on the next conference call. You tell your sponsor that you want to promote your business online without making any cold calls, so your sponsor tells you to just buy autoresponder leads from a lead company. You find out that your network marketing company has partnered with a certain lead company that will provide you with high quality autoresponder leads that were generated specifically for your company.

You get all hyped up again, purchase the leads, and the lead company automatically uploads the leads into your top of the line prospecting system that your network marketing company gave you. Your heart starts beating a mile a minute out of excitement. Your leads are emailed the messages that your company has already pre-written in your state of the art back office. Now you just sit back and wait for people to start joining your business left and right, and sales of your product to roll in.

Two months go by and nothing. No sign ups, no sales…Nothing! You give up and join another network marketing company, and the process repeats itself, over and over and over…

Look, the fact is that everything your company gave you has been given to thousands of other distributors in the company. Your leads have seen that same replicated website from all the other distributors, so why would they be interested in what you have to offer? You’re no different than anyone else in the company.

So how is it that other internet network marketers in your company are making money and you’re not? Because they have their own websites with their own marketing systems! If you really want to succeed with internet network marketing then you have to set yourself apart from the thousands of other distributors and create something that your prospect hasn’t seen before…Your own website and your own follow-up system. In time, those leads will be ready to go to your replicated website so that they can join you and/or purchase products from you.

Don’t be like everyone else; stand out from the crowd so that you can succeed with internet network marketing. It’s not hard; you just need to learn the basic principles to set up the right profitable foundation.

Never give up, you can do it!

Using social media to promote your network marketing business online is great, but it’s the worst way to build your foundation. Why? Because it’s not stable. For example, Back in 2007 MySpace was one of the best things to take advantage of for internet network marketers, but now everyone is using Facebook and Twitter. If your foundation was built just on MySpace, your lead generation success should be taking a nose dive right now. Also, with the way that people are using automated this and that for Twitter, who knows how long it will be a valuable tool in an internet network marketer’s arsenal.

My point is there are basic internet marketing principles and certain elements that need to be utilized in order to build your foundation. After your foundation is built, that’s when you add social media to help take your business to a whole new level. Internet Marketers have been promoting all kinds of products and services online for years way before MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. became popular. Some of the strategies used back then work just as well today. For example, article marketing, list building with the use of autoresponders, participating in forums, and PPC are a few very powerful strategies that still work today. You would be surprised at the number of successful internet marketers now who don’t have much of a presence on social networking sites.

The biggest test of the skills of an internet network marketer is to see how they can stay alive in the game without blogging and without YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Squidoo, etc. Those that can survive are the ones who really know their stuff and have built a strong internet marketing foundation. Those who can’t survive have built a weak foundation.

Why build a weak house because it’s summer time now, when you know that the cold winter storms are coming in later months? You need to build a foundation that will last in all whether no matter how many years go by. At the same time, you still need to take advantage of current trends.

Don’t just be an internet network marketer for today; make sure that your foundation is strong enough to continue your success tomorrow. Once again, Social media is great, but it’s just icing on the cake.

You have already shown people how great your network marketing business opportunity is, so now when they go online and find out more about the company, they will come across another distributor with their own website who is branding themselves as a leader.  You haven’t branded yourself as anything – all you did was promote the company and their website.

Well guess what?  Thousands of other independent reps for your network marketing company are doing the same thing that you’re doing (promoting the network marketing company) which doesn’t set you apart in any way.

The only people that are going to support you are the ones who know you personally (and that’s if you were able to convince them to join), unless you are able to establish a relationship and credibility with others who you have shown your network marketing opportunity to…and you can’t do that without having your own website!

A network marketing company’s main focus is to brand their name and get their products and services sold.  This is why they pay their independent reps to not only sell their products and services, but to also recruit others into the business.  The more independent reps, the more the word gets out about the company.

So where does this leave you when it comes to company training? Full of knowledge about the company and what it offers, but frustrated and financial broke.

Most network marketing companies spend more time making a name for themselves than helping their distributors; but understand that this is not a bad thing, this is business.

That is why it’s important to break away from the company and promote yourself, and use the company’s products, service, and business opportunity as a solution to other people’s problems.
